A Bharatanatyam Arangetram of Tanya Mandyam, disciple of Divya Devaguptapu. This specially conceptualized and curated presentation, extols Bhagawan Maha Vishnu, who in Indian Culture is considered the Supreme Consciousness, the Universal Soul. Tanya and her family are from the lineage of Mandyam Iyengars, descendants of a Tamil speaking community from Southern India, who follow the path of the Sri Vaishnva and Vishitadvaita tradition. This maiden solo performance has been curated as an offering of respect and gratitude to the beautiful lineage she represents. All the pieces chosen are specific to her family tradition and culture and an offering to Maha Vishnu, the preserver of this Universe. The central piece or the Varnam, has been specially chosen and choreographed for this occasion, a very rare composition in Ragam Bhairavi of Maharaja Swati Tirunal of Travancore on Sri Padmanabhaswamy.
